An inertial measurement unit (accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer) inside an 18 g housing measures flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and rotation in the plane you choose.
Static accuracy is 2°. In motion, it's 2° in pitch and roll and 7° in heading.
Measure both sides on the same visit, and the app shows them together. A recorded maximum becomes the 100% mark for the app's target games, which have 10 difficulty levels.
